About Ruth
As Program Manager, Ruth McCormack supports the program team in activating SLATE-Z’s workgroups to create and maintain sustainable pathways to economic opportunity. In addition, Ruth works on the SLATE-Z Community Data Dashboard, which provides residents with a visual overview of progress towards our transit, education, employment, and safety goals.
Ruth is skilled in project management, data analysis, facilitation, and has experience in education nonprofits and market research. She joined SLATE-Z after serving as a Research Specialist at University of Southern California’s Neighborhood Data for Social Change (NDSC) initiative. In this role she worked with the SLATE-Z team on the Cultural Treasures Initiative, evaluating the LA Department of Cultural Affairs’ Social Justice Artist-in-Residence program.
Ruth holds a master’s degree in public administration and a graduate certificate in social innovation from the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University, in Art History.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2021, Ruth has worked with community-based organizations in South Los Angeles to expand cultural and economic opportunities for residents. She continues her dedication to this work as a part of the SLATE-Z team.
