About Eddy
Eddy French is currently serving as the Data Evaluation Associate. Prior to joining SLATE-Z, Eddy volunteered extensively for various organizations across Los Angeles, including the Pasadena Humane Society and Foothill Unity Food Bank.
“As a lifelong resident of Los Angeles, I was drawn to work at SLATE-Z to promote equitable solutions in a neighborhood I care deeply about. I hope to serve by giving back to the community, and work towards creating a more inclusive Los Angeles for everyone,” shared Eddy. His experience volunteering at various food banks and homeless shelters further fueled his commitment to making a positive impact in his community. While attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Eddy developed skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) that he used to work on projects that demonstrate the vital change that urban tree canopy cover in Los Angeles County can improve marginalized communities.
Eddy attended California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Geography in 2024. He hopes to continue his educational journey by pursuing a master’s degree in urban planning and public policy.
