SLATE-Z respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and contributors to do the same. This Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy outlines the procedures for submitting a copyright infringement notification and explains how such claims are handled in accordance with applicable copyright laws.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that any material available on SLATE-Z infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a written DMCA notice requesting removal of the allegedly infringing content. Your notification must include the following information to be valid:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  3. Identification of the material on SLATE-Z that is alleged to be infringing, including the specific URL(s) where the material appears
  4. Sufficient contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information provided in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Incomplete or improperly submitted notices may not be processed.

Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notification, SLATE-Z will review the claim and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing material. We reserve the right to request additional information to verify claims before taking action.

Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe that material you submitted was removed or disabled in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material that has been removed and its previous location
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate legal authority

Repeat Infringement Policy

SLATE-Z reserves the right to restrict access to or terminate users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright-protected material.
